About Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance Philadelphia Chapter
The Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance (AFWA), formerly named The American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA), was formed in 1938 to increase the opportunities for women in all fields of accounting and finance. Since then, AFWA has grown to become more than just a benefit to your career. The Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance is about relationships - those you can count on for career networking and growth, as well as inspiration and camaraderie. We work to bring you educational opportunities to keep you competitive and empower your potential. With over 60 chapters across the country, our networking opportunities are unsurpassed.
The Philadelphia Chapter of AFWA was chartered in 1940. Our members work at all levels of the accounting and finance professions, from individual practitioners to private industry, government, education and public accounting.
AFWA provides professional affiliation with a network of successful, motivated, and influential professionals who understand the unique position of being a woman in the industry and who, together, contribute to the future development of their profession. Membership in AFWA connects you with a network of motivated and inspiring women and offers career development to keep you competitive and empower your potential.
The mission of the Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance is to enable women in accounting, financial, and related fields to achieve their full personal, professional, and economic potential and to contribute to the future development of their profession.
