About Association for Women in Science Greater Baltimore Chapter

The Greater Baltimore Chapter of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) supports the advancement of women in STEM fields by promoting and facilitating career development, mentoring and leadership activities in Baltimore and its suburbs.

We are officially known as the "AWIS Greater Baltimore Chapter," but are also known as the "AWIS Baltimore Chapter."

The mission of the AWIS Greater Baltimore Chapter is to:

- Provide networking and leadership opportunities for women in science at all levels of their careers and education

- Foster career development and advancement for women in science

- Raise public awareness of the scientific and technological skills of women

- Work with other scientific and educational organizations in developing effective national and community programs

- Provide recognition for women scientists
