Canadian Federation of University Women Calgary
About Canadian Federation of University Women Calgary
CFUW Calgary is a dynamic community of 100 women who explore our city in our Walking group and in Jaunters, (a group that visits interesting city and area sites). Two book discussion groups and a bridge group challenge our brains. Our book circles provide opportunity to read, discuss and own recently released books. We volunteer with Calgary Reads to introduce young children to the wonderful world of books. We golf and lawn bowl in summer. Women’s shelters receive our donations of toiletries. We fundraise to support 8 scholarships/bursaries at the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta. We quilt together making beautiful quilts that are often donated as fund raisers. And, last but not least, we eat together in Fun Cooking, Lunch Bunch and Saturday Night Dinners. We have a group for new University Women aimed at women aged 18-40 who are current students, recent graduates, or working in careers.
Our activities and groups are fluid and respond to the interests and concerns of our members.
