Canadian Federation of University Women Edmonton

The Canadian Federation of University Women Edmonton is a non-partisan, voluntary organization dedicated to advancing women's education, equality, and social progress across local, provincial, national, and international levels. Founded in 1909, CFUW Edmonton serves the Edmonton, AB community through a comprehensive range of programs and initiatives designed to support women graduates and promote gender equality. The organization operates monthly meetings from September through May featuring educational speakers addressing contemporary social, political, cultural, and economic issues. Members engage in diverse interest groups spanning literature, art, health, environmental sustainability, film, and culinary pursuits, creating opportunities for intellectual enrichment and meaningful connection. CFUW Edmonton's Academic Awards Fund demonstrates its commitment to supporting female graduate students, distributing $50,000 annually in scholarships and bursaries to women students at the University of Alberta. The organization's advocacy work encompasses local, regional, national, and international concerns related to women's rights, equality, education, environmental protection, peace, justice, and human rights. As an affiliated member of Graduate Women International—a global network connecting women graduates across 62 countries—CFUW Edmonton extends its impact beyond the Edmonton area.
