About Chicago Chapter of the National Conference of Puerto Rican Women

The Chicago Chapter of the National Conference of Puerto Rican Women (NACOPRW) is a diverse group of women with varied life experiences. We are women who share a set of core values that guide us into action to insure equity for women and girls.

As one of the oldest chapters founded in 1973, the Chicago Chapter continues to work towards creating a community of women who believe in the importance of a strong cultural identity and the power of education.

NACOPRW provides training, mentorship and leadership development at the local and national level through workshops and institutes during the annual convention, and through chapter programs. We preserve our Puerto Rican and Latino heritage through cultural activities and events. We seek justice and give voice to the preservation of civil, health, educational and other rights through the dissemination of information, networking, collaboration and advocacy with other national and local groups, and through education, celebration, community and civil involvement.
