Notre Dame Pom Squad

The Notre Dame Pom Squad is a non-competitive athletic club dedicated to performing at premier university and community events throughout Notre Dame, IN. As a student-led organization organized through the Student Activities Office and RecSports, the squad brings energy and spirit to a diverse range of sporting events, including football pep rallies, men's and women's basketball games, rugby, lacrosse, volleyball, and soccer competitions.

The squad's performance portfolio extends beyond traditional athletics. Members actively participate in major campus events such as the Bookstore Basketball Championships, Ball Out at the Bookstore, The Shirt Unveiling, and Saint Mary's Dance Marathon. The organization also maintains a strong commitment to community engagement, performing at nursing homes and hosting annual dance clinics for students in grades 1st through 12th grade.

Composed of women from both the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College, the Notre Dame Pom Squad combines athletic precision with artistic expression. The team performs regularly on Football Fridays at the bookstore and stadium during home game weekends, making appearances from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. With a rich history dating back to 1975 when the group originated as the Dancing Irish, the squad has evolved into a cornerstone of Notre Dame's athletic and cultural traditions.

Springtime tryouts welcome current students seeking to join this dynamic organization. The squad maintains an active social media presence and welcomes performance requests from campus and community organizations looking to enhance their events with professional choreography and spirited entertainment.
