Women's Community Justice Association

The Women's Community Justice Association (WCJA) is a non-profit organization serving New York, NY with a comprehensive approach to criminal justice reform and advocacy. Founded in 2018, WCJA specializes in policy advocacy, community organizing, and direct services designed to support women and gender-expansive individuals impacted by mass incarceration. The organization brings together justice-impacted women who lead efforts to create systemic change throughout New York's criminal justice landscape. WCJA operates multiple key initiatives, including the #BEYONDrosies campaign and the Justice 4 Women Task Force, both of which work to address the unique challenges faced by incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women. Through its multi-faceted approach combining advocacy, organizing, and service delivery, WCJA addresses the intersectional barriers that women and gender-expansive New Yorkers encounter within the justice system. The organization is dedicated to dismantling racially charged systems that perpetuate trauma and violence, with particular focus on supporting Black and Brown communities. Whether through policy change, community mobilization, or direct support services, WCJA provides New York residents with pathways toward dignity, safety, and justice.
